New Staff Orientation

Welcome to PHSA! We're thrilled to have you here. All of us at PHSA recognize the value and importance of providing a comprehensive new hire orientation. We hope this experience will help you better understand and navigate our organization’s culture, policies, and expectations—and prepare you for the days and months ahead. Thank you choosing PHSA as your employer!

If you have not already, please ensure that you complete the PHSA New Hire Orientation Curriculum (note: BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) CUPE employees please ensure you complete your curriculum):

This is the first step in your onboarding process. Please see below for information on onboarding during your first week with PHSA.

Note: if you are a returning employees within two (2) years, you do not need to take this orientation.

Your first week

Your first week is all about getting oriented with the organization, your team, and your work. As a reminder, you should have completed the PHSA New Hire Orientation Curriculum (or BCEHS CUPE Curriculum), to help you understand a bit more about PHSA. 

The information below will help guide you through your first week with us. Please ensure you review and complete all the required training via LearningHub (our online training tool).

You should complete all of the benefits forms before you start, but if you are not able, ensure any outstanding documentation relating to your pay or benefits is completed as early as possible.

The LearningHub is PHSA's online education and training tool for both online and classroom courses. The LearningHub offers many benefits, such as: course tracking, personalized email reminders, and learning history. The LearningHub is available to you even before your first day at work. To access the LearningHub, follow instructions on how to create your employee LearningHub account. You may also contact LearningHub Support for further assistance.

 

‎In addition to the PHSA New Hire Online Orientation curriculum, all employees are required to complete an eLearning curriculum through LearningHub within the first week of starting work. The curriculum was designed to make it easy for you to complete from a home or work computer.


Please sign up for and complete one of the following two curricula, based on your role within the organization:

 

‎As each site has a different process for obtaining an ID badge, please speak with your leader for more information.

 

PHSA's Intranet, PHSA On Demand (POD) is full of important employee information, news, and updates. Once you are on-site or have remote access, you will be able to access POD.
